Tracy White lives in Kernersville, North Carolina with her husband and two children.  She has been writing poetry and short stories from a very young age.  In 1999 she founded a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental education called Creature Teacher, Inc.  At that time she began teaching children about small exotic animals and respect for the natural world.  Tracy is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and has taken symposiums on animal shelter management.  The story of Kimi Sue came to her during a lesson in which she was teaching children about sugar gliders.  No Fair Ferret was inspired by all the comical antics of her first ferret, Cecil.
