Valerie Lackey Stone was born and raised in North Carolina and resides in Greensboro with her husband, Mitch.  Valerie’s mother realized an artistic ability in both her daughters at a young age and began nurturing their talents by sketching things for them. Valerie recalls fond memories of coloring ‘Southern Belles’ and other such drawings of her mother’s with her sister. Valerie matured as an illustrator in high school however, instead of pursuing fine art, she decided to study commercial art and advertising design. She has worked as a Graphic Artist and Designer for the majority of her career. She considers herself blessed by all the opportunities she has had to illustrate and paint and looks forward to continuing to do so for many years to come.
